OpenSUSE 13.1 comes with NetworkManager kde4 packages and plasmoid-networkmanagement.
After upgrade to KDE 4.13 it seems it wants to remove these packages as they are not in KDE Current. I did find the following package: plasma-nm. Is this supposed to replace plasmoid-networkmanagement?
Not in KDE Current:
plasma-nm is the new version of plasmoid-networkmanagement, yes.
It uses libNetworkManagerQt instead of NetworkManager-kde4-libs.
You can use either plasma-nm from KDE:Current (with libNetworkManagerQt) or plasmoid-networkmanagement from the standard repo (with NetworkManager-kde4-libs and so on), whatever you prefer.
If you do switch to plasma-nm, you should install the plugins you need as well of course:
plasma-nm-l2tp, plasma-nm-openconnect, plasma-nm-openswan, plasma-nm-openvpn, plasma-nm-pptp, plasma-nm-strongswan, plasma-nm-vpnc.
