Networkmanager eth0 with manual settings in openSuse 12.1

Hi,

I’am using openSuse 12.1. Since this version I have problem with the networkmanager. My wireless connections are still there after installing 12.1 (from 11.4), but my LAN (manual settings, no DHCP) is not working. IFUP is deactivated, IP6 is also deactivated.

When I enter my manuel LAN data (university network), the Gateway makes problems. The gateway address will by always changed automatically by the system >:(.
Gateway: xxx.xxx.67.xxx will be everytime changed to xxx.xxx.6.xxx

Does somebody know how to get the networkmanger in 12.1 working with manual settings for LAN?

Best wishes

Michael

Hi,

interestingly, after a reboot, I was able to modify the Gateway :. Now, the network was still not running ;). But, after another reboot, the network was established with the correct Gateway address :).
Sometimes, it’s a miracle ;).

A suggestion: my WLAN connections are saved as user, the LAN connection in 12.1 is now saved as root (I had to type in the root password). This is not very smooth. Please keep every network connection with user rights.

Cheers

Michael
