Network Settings Wont Open

I’m on tumbleweed with cinnamon. My network settings option won’t open. It’s been several days. The system is always up to date. Meanwhile, the network connection option is there where I can edit network properties. I can select different networks from my bottom panel icon. But still can’t open the network settings option (or ‘Network’ in system settings)

@karavind:

What happens if, you use a Desktop Environment which isn’t “Cinnamon”?

  • GNOME, KDE Plasma, whatever …

Hi,

I tried with XFCE. But it doesnt have a similar application. In fact the application in question is exclusive to cinnamon desktop. When I try to open it using the terminal this is the output I got,

cinnamon-settings network
Using pam module (python3-pampy)
/usr/share/cinnamon/cinnamon-settings/cinnamon-settings.py:430: DeprecationWarning: Gtk.Window.set_wmclass is deprecated
  self.window.set_wmclass(wm_class, wm_class)
Segmentation fault (core dumped)

Saw same bug reported and rectified on cinnamon github. (cinnamon-settings network error · Issue #10616 · linuxmint/cinnamon · GitHub) For some reason it is not rectified in Tumbleweed.

Here we can see the same bug report on cinnamon github. They rectified it. But problem still exist in Tumbleweed repos.

This bug report suggests that there is an issue with latest version of ‘libnma’ (1.8.4).
