Network Scanner Auto Detection

I just tried SKANPAGE with Ubuntu 25.10 and it detected my brother MFC Network Scanner /Prinnter without issues.

Same try with Tumbleweed, firewall off for printer detection, then autodetect works for the printer, but the scanner cannot be found.

the brcan4 driver is installed.

What doe ubuntu, besides no firewall, different, that I get the scanner detected?

Maybe installed sane-airscan by default?

just installed and did not work

In my experience with brother MFC, the rpm driver no longer work in tumbleweed.
Need to use the brother driver installer to make the driver for printer and scanner work.
There is another problem with the scanner looking for the libnsl.so.1, just lucky to keep it on my backup and link it to the newer libnsl.so.

I should be on the same Network, then it works

sane-airscan did the trick.
