Network Manager Problems (Post restart!) TP Link WN722N

Just installed 12.3 KDE on my desktop after having it on my laptop for a while now. For wireless I have a Tp Link WN722N wifi dongle (which has always given me all kinds of grief). After successfully installing and restarting to get past the NW bug, NW is still giving me problems.
I checked the output of lspci and dmesg and it was getting the right drivers loaded up (ath9k_htc: htc_9271.fw) and everything just looks hunky doory. However when clicking on the NW applet, it says that NW is not started (I restarted about 3 times hoping it would just work once  ).

However, I am able to go into Yast -> Network Devices -> Network Settings and manually set up my wlan0 and get everything working. I don’t have a lot of experience monkeying around with NW so I was wondering if anyone might be able to shed some light on what’s going on here. I’m mostly posting this just to help anyone out who also has this problem though, I can live with how it’s set up now.

Thanks in advance.

Looks like a “wireless” issue and it should technically go here https://forums.opensuse.org/english/get-technical-help-here/wireless/

Wow I completely missed that forum, thanks. Well, I guess this should be moved or deleted then. It appears that there are already threads perhaps related to this topic there.
