I have tried entering the DNS settings into the network manager. The program will not keep the settings.
I have also tried editing the resolv.conf and it is over written on re-boot.
I have read a few talking about an ifup method. Since I am VERY new to SuSe, I’m not sure what this “ifup” is.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If the network connection of your machine is using <dhcp client>, your resolv.conf file will be recovered by dhcp server after reboot.

I have DHCP off and set a static IP address for the box.

I have the EXACT same problem … really a pain.
Is there any solution for this problem ?
Is this a bug ?
I have the same problem. In “hostname/dns” tab the parameter “Change /etc/resolv.conf manually” is grayed out.
I cannot change the resolv.conf file.
