Somehow I lost this post. If it appears twice, I apologize.
In v.10.2 I had an icon in the lower tray on the right side, which showed me all networks, etc. and from which I could choose one or the other. In v.11.0 I do not see this icon.
I’ve installed one static wired, and one static wireless. I cannot tell which is working without going into the terminal.
Is it still being used and must it be manually placed there?
Well do not know what you exactly mean but there is
a icon on the task bar in GNOMe it is two computers
and KDE something similar.
If you put the mouse pointer it will tell you that network is up , you can disconnect the network or install a other network , or do you mean something else

Yes, I see the green icon in the tray. You cannot install in network manager mode, only ifup and DHCP. Since I like static addresses and network manager, I presume that the green icon means that I am in network manager. How do I get rid of the ifup install and go to a static install with network manager? I see that there is a deactivate button, but that seems to apply only to wireless and I’m not in wireless yet.
There is also a place to install new connections…that shows that there isn’t a connection at all, but apparently there is.
I’ve tried installing a new static connection which does show then, but - then I cannot connect.
I also went into Yast and Network cards, and both the Nvidia MB eth0 is shown as well as my wireless card wlan0. If I edit in Yast in Network cards, I get a hiccup when the edit is closing and it tells me that it cannot access the CD. When I start over and with the CD in the drive, it does the same thing.
