Running on KDE desktop.
I have an HP network printer which is connected to a subnet called Accounts which is on a different subnet from my Home network.
In order to print from my Home network workstation to the HP network printer I used Yast to create the connection using hp-setup and by magic this worked and it created a connection:-
hp:/net/HP_Laserjet_600_M602?ip=10.110.101.10
My question is how does this connection work. What is going on please?
I do not quite understand you. The IP address is 10.110.101.10. And apparently this is either on the same LAN as your system, or it is elsewhere and there is a route to elsewhere. This is how all TCP/IP network based connections function, thus why your amazement?
The printer is on a different subnet and I am trying to understand the route of the connection starting with the address quoted which I would like to understand.
