Network card changing name

Hi all,

I have a machine with an ASrock B850 LiveMixer, this board has 3 PCIe slots, I currently have an HBA in one and a 10G network card in the second (will be having an RX6400 in the 3rd when it arrives).

Over the past couple of weeks I have had to re-arrange which slots the cards are in. But it seams any time I do this the name of the network card changes, even if I remove it from it’s slot and then replace it in the same slot.

This is a bit of a pain as it means I have to login and re-add the card to network my bridge (in YaST) or I have no networking.

Yes once the graphics card arrives and is installed it should not change again, but it would be good to know how to prevent this.

Cheers.

Phill.
