Network adaper is not connecting after restart. After opening Network settings with YAST and changing any setting and saving it works.

Linux 3.11.10-11-desktop
openSUSE 13.1 (Bottle) (i586)
KDE 4.11.5

I haven’t seen what you describe after a restart,

But for awhile now my VMware instances don’t always start with networking enabled.

You may find my solution works for you, and easier than opening YAST, the following restarts the network service. You can execute it from a root console or put it in a script you simply doubleclick to execute (again, requires root)

systemctl restart network
