Alright so I installed suse 11.1 fine and everything was going fine untill I tried to get online which I can not. I checked all my setting the best I could being I’m new to linux and especial suse. I have DSL modem with a Linksys router hooked up tried hooking it straight up to the modem and still nothing so any help would be great and if any more information is needed which Im sure there is just let me know.
1 )Are you getting an IP address ?
2 )Have you gone to YaST - network devices - network settings & checked the settings ?
3 )Have you turned off ipv6 ?
4 )Are you using MAC filtering on the router ?
5 )Have you checked the firewall ?

Well I feel Like an Idiot… For some reason all the settings were right excepted the Device Activation was set to never. I don’t know why that would be the default but it’s fixed now so Thanks when I seen your post it made me double check everything and I caught it this time.
