620W Coolermaster Real Power M620 - PSU
Coolermaster Dominator 690 Nvidia - Case

Also i would like to know if i would require a more powerful PSU?

Please reply As Soon As Possible.

pretty good spec. a few questions:

  1. sli or watercooling in the future? if yes, consider 1k or more psu
  2. evga mobo, why not evga gpu?
  3. you really need the sound card?
  4. why not 790i or X58 mobo?

as far as linux compatability, i don’t know and good luck.

Ok thanks for the quick reply im taking another look into my shopping list.

Hi!
Also take a look to the Hardware Compatibility List:
Hardware - openSUSE
Good shopping!

The support for this sound card is still miserable (although there is work ongoing) under Linux. There is (unfortunately) a reasonable possibility you will have no sound on your PC if you elect to go for this sound device.

I just bought and assembled a Intel DX48BT2 motherboard, EVGA 8400 and use the onboard sound. Had no problems out of the box but made sure I used the packman sound RPMS. I have Intel Core 2 Dual processor (E7200, 2.53MHZ), 1366 memory 4GB. I’m not into a lot of games etc, so i did not need better video card or sound card. I use the on board network card with no problem either.

I used to have an ASUS P4 motherboard and had a lot of hardware problems with it.

Good luck

Get hold of a Live CD/DVD and find out how much of your hardware it detects.

On 11.0 it has detected all hardware I have connected and all the internal stuff. I just made a 11.1 GM Live Cd but have not had time to try it yet. Been working on problems with kde4.1.3 on 11.0.

Just tried the openSUSE 11.1 GM live CD that I download the other day. It load Ok and looking at the Hardware information it detected all the hardware and controllers correctly. Only device it did not see is my Camera (Not plugged in and a Epson CX6600 printer that was turned off. Found my xerox Phaser even without me installing the PPD. It detected my 120GB usb drive and I was able to access it. Detected my Nvidia card correctly.

Sound worked except for an MP3 file which I did not install a codex.

When I have some time I will see if this version fixes the pdf problem I have with Okular on 11.0. I also have a problem with Iscan on 11.0 which I have awork around to test hopefully in the next day or two.

i will install 11.1 on my older Micron P3 as that is my backup for 11.0 right now.
