Open source drivers (radeon/radeonhd for ATI and nouveau for nvidia) will be installed. You have to install the proprietary drivers yourself. There are several methods which have been widely discussed here.
zypper in <program name>
Yep. Should be installed. You can install these extra packages:
zypper in compiz-plugins-extra
zypper in compizconfig-settings-manager
The zypper command is the easiest way. To install meld: zypper in meld
Yes. Google if you need more. SUSE was, I believe, the first distro
to have this functionality back when it was called XGL, or at least I
heard it from the SUSE folks first.
For what? sudo obviously works. zypper is the apt-* equivalent.
in/install for installing (see the meld example above). se/search for
search. Just type zypper to see all of its options.
Again, zypper.
Good luck.

No, you need to add the repositories and then install it
To help you a little more, can you post what video card do you have?
have you added extra repositories to your system? and are you using KDE,
Gnome, LXDE, etc?

How install ATI drivers correctly? (My vga is HD 4770 and I am sing KDE desktop). I tried myself, but after it i got only black screen, so I reinstalled opensuse.
1- Add the following repositories to your system: ATI and Packman
use the following commands
su - -c "zypper ar http://www2.ati.com/suse/11.3/ repo-ati"
su - -c "zypper ar http://packman.jacobs-university.de/suse/11.3/
repo-packman"
su - -c "zypper ref"
3- For sound codecs, you can install libxine1 and mplayer from packman
repository or if you don’t started amarok yet you can leave it to
install the codecs, but add packman first
su - -c "zypper in libxine1 mplayer"

One more thing, if you use KDE 4.x you don’t need to install compiz,
kwin have the same effects as compiz, all you need is 3D support to
enable them

You can use this script to install the latest ATI driver if needed/desired Upgrading ATI driver with atiupgrade. The one from the repo is usually older (and might not be as good).
