Need help with a Thunderbird tweak

I am running 12.1/KDE 4.8.2 and Thunderbird 11.0.1

When authoring an Email and inserting an image, I select Insert-Image and a window opens called Image Properties.
I then select the Choose File button and another window opens called Select Image File, which looks like a version of Dolphin file manager. In the upper right of this window is an Option button (Wrench with small down arrow) which opens a dialog of options including “Show Bookmarks”. Selecting Show Bookmarks adds a bookmark icon to the Select Image File toolbar and manages a bookmark list. Very helpful.

Is there a way to configure this window such that Show Bookmarks is ON by default?
It is sort of a pain to have to select it each time.

I’m not sure if I should be digging into KDE, GTK or Mozilla configurations

Thanks

OK, a few lookers but no ideas yet.

I also notice that when running Firefox, selecting File-Open File opens the same file browsing dialog window.

The window you are seeing is from KDE so I would guess that these
settings are somewhere hidden in KDE.

Wolfgang

Thanks, Wolfgang.
Hacking about, I have determined (I think) that these menus are serviced by kmozillahelper, which is in the mozilla-kde4-integration rpm.

I am still digging, but as yet unable to find any applicable setup or configs for it.

I am a bit puzzled. I have created a few bookmarks within the file chooser dialog. Those bookmarks are persistent(between reboots) and are visible from both Firefox and Thunderbird.
But interestingly, I cannot find those bookmarks as the contents of any file on the system doing ascii search.
I don’t know why they would choose to hide them (encrypted, binary, etc).
I thought perhaps if I could find where they were stored, I might find a config file or similar.

I’m pretty sure this is somewhere saved deep in the KDE configuration
but I’m not really familiar with that.

Wolfgang

That my quess too, but well hidden!

I have posted over at KDE Forums to see if they can help.

OK, I found the solution with help from folks over at KDE Forum.
