Need help to launch ssh on remote host after reboot

Yes dcurtisfra,
With % systemctl list-unit-files | grep -i ‘ssh’ I see (on remote host):

sshd.service enabled

But still no ssh connection on local host to remote host on reboot of remote host.

Hi OrsoBruno, I applied your tweak using nmtui to match your output, but still no ssh connection to remote host after reboot?
And on another post I verified sshd.service enabled

Hi
On the remote host Leap 15.1, during install did you allow ssh port to be open in the final screen before install? If not then go into YaST firewall and open up the ssh port.

I finally have some good news. I was able to successfully ssh into the remote box after it was re-booted.
After someone posted about being hooked up directly to the router I decided to try that with a reboot.
Before, the 2 boxes were next to each other both using USB Wifi adapters. I’m not sure if that was the root
of the problem or a few settings that were suggested. Of course I had to find the new IP address, that’s easy.
Big thanks to all of you who took the time to help me out. I learned a lot of new network tools.

Huh? – The machines don’t have names and, the DHCP server – presumably the Router – doesn’t know the names?

  • And, the routers are normally the Name Servers, these days, mostly, usually, everywhere on this planet …

Thanks for the help mate
