syslinux is not normally loaded. Here is what it says about this application.

syslinux - Boot Loader for Linux

SYSLINUX is a boot loader for the Linux operating system which operates off an MS-DOS or Windows FAT file system. It is intended to simplify first-time installation of Linux and for creation of rescue and other special purpose boot disks.

What are you trying to do where you think you need to install syslinux?

What link?

Cheers / Saludos,

(from 11.4 x86_64 “Celadon” at Telcontar)

Windows instructions

Get isohybrid

Download and extract isohybrid from the syslinux package.

Download syslinux.
Extract the zip. Right click on it in Windows Explorer and click “Extract All”
Find the isohybrid.pl script in the utils directory, and place it in the same directory as your image.

[edit] Install Perl

Install strawberry perl.

Create Hybrid ISO

Make the DVD or Net-install image hybrid.

Open cmd and navigate to the directory containing isohybrid.pl script and your installation image.
Run isohybrid.pl
> C:\strawberry\perl\bin\perl.exe isohybrid.pl openSUSE-11.4-DVD-x86_64.iso
This should take less than a second to execute
Once completed just follow whichever set of above LiveUSB instructions you like, and take care to read the Booting from USB-DVD section below afterward.

-=WELCOME=- new poster…but, we here consider SHOUTING kinda rude…

it seems you clicked on the link to
http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/utils/boot/syslinux/syslinux-4.04.zip
which you found near here
http://en.opensuse.org//SDB:Live_USB_stick#Install_syslinux.2Fisohybrid

that file is not found there because kernel.org has recently gone though
an extreme make-over…

however, Google finds many examples of that file existing in other
places…i can not verify the purity of any found via:
