i see you have not been here long -=WELCOME=-
lots of new stuff to learn…patience is great, asking before you mess
up your system is very good!!

uget-1.8.0.tar.gz is a file (called a “tar ball”) containing the
source code for uget…which must be compiled and installed…if you
actually want to learn how to do that post again and someone will tell
you how (or more likely point you to any one of thousands of
explanations already existing on the web)…

but, if you simply want to install uget then:

-open YaST
-click (on the right side) Software Management
-type uget in the search block
-click on the “Search” button
-when the new list on the right is populated, single left click on uget
(a green check mark is inserted–meaning “install”)
-click on the “Accept” button
-sit on your hands while the magic happens

installed this way (with YaST) you can always use YaST to uninstall
it…and, if there is a security update for uget then YaST Online Update
will apply the patch for you…(neither of those features of YaST are
available to your system if you compile from source and install…

way back in the old days (of last century) it was common to have to
compile your own software from source…today, in openSUSE you can most
often find what you need existing in one of our repos…and, YaST is a
real easy way to install software from out repos…there are other ways
too…
