Problem: NetworkManager refuses to connect to a DSL, moreover, it doesn’t even connect to eth0. Setting up DSL trough YaST ends up impossible because no network is running. Running openSuSE 11.3 with GNOME. The provider is Russian “Stream” (Стрим) if that’s of any importance.
Hi please double check that You are actually using NetworkManager YaST->Network Devices->Network Settings switch from ifup to NetworkManager if required.
If this doesn’t help post the results of
/sbin/lspci -nnk
That’s just in case You are using an inappropriate driver for your Ethernet card.
You could also tell us more about the topology if your network. You connect your PC directly to the DSL modem using Ethernet cable ?
Best regards,
Greg
