need help : Acer Laptop freeze

Hello
My laptop is Acer aspire 5580.
1.5 GB of RAM
Nvidia gforce go 7300
Altros w/l LAN (3945 BG)

My laptop seem random freeze everyday. I try to switch off Compiz and Disable composite option in x.org. It was still freeze. Before I use Opensuse 11.0, I also found this problem in Ubuntu hardy. When laptop goes freeze, screen will flick or has stange green dot. Pls help.

Try to replace your NVidia driver by the Xorg ‘nv’ and see if you still have the same problem… As well you may also try ‘vesa’ driver to be sure there is no any H/W failure…

I remember to have a similar problem last year on my Toshiba and using ‘nv’ driver fixed it (but well, I preferred laptop stability rather 3D fun features)…
