Would like a recommendation on a really good webcam.

Something that will work with Kopete or Pidgin.

My vote goes for the Logitech Quickcam Pro 9000 (http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/webcam_communications/webcams/devices/3056&cl=gb,en)

Works out of the box, and the video and mic quality are great. Expensive, though…
