Nautilus content overflowing/shifted off-center

Since last night’s update, nautilus appears to be off-center. When it is launched, it looks like this (mind the right side):

As you can see, the icons at the right side more or less overflow. When I click on one of them, the contents get shifted in the other direction, resulting in the left side icons overflowing.

It seems to me that the issue is the icon grid being off-center, i.e. everything too far to the right. While there is not enough white space at the right end, there appears (to me) to be too much of it at the left side. There is, by the way, a horizontal scroll bar at the bottom; don’t know where that came from…

I have three accounts on this computer and all three are affected. The system is running on X11; restarting X or rebooting has not been helpful.

Is anyone else having this problem? Any suggestions?

Update: the issue is known at gnome gitlab. The culprit appears to be GTK4 but a fix has been committed…
