NAS Recommendations

My external HD is beginning to struggle. Before it dies on me I’d like to replace it. Since I’ve been wanting to get a NAS device I figured this would be a good opportunity. I don’t want to spend too much but I also don’t want to spend too little and end up getting what I paid for. I don’t need support for more than RAID1.

If anyone can make any recommendations on decent devices that won’t break the bank I’d appreciate it.

Thanks.

Hi
I’m running a linksys NAS200 brought from amazon for just over US$100 I
had two 250GB drives already to install and it works great. Have
actually put the open source software on it, and only tund on the media
server if I’m wanting to use the xbox with it.

It’s not a speed deamon (GPU is around 50 bogomips), but seems to
transfer at a good enough rate for me. Also connects fine via cifs
entry in the fstab file.
