Nach Upgrade auf 13.1: Notebook überhitzt

Hallo zusammen,

nach Upgrade von 12.2 incl. AMD legacy Treiber für meine Radeon HD 4800 auf 13.1 mit mitgelieferten Treiber
wird der Rechner sehr heiß und geht nach einigen Minuten aus.
Zuerst konnte ich nicht starten, da hatte wolfi mir schon hier geholfen.
Jetzt gehts, aber das erste Bild “schmilzt” irgendwie zusammen und der Bildschirm wird teilweise weiß.
Dann kommt aber der Anmeldebildschirm.
Mit Mühe (Kaltluftfön) konnte ich jetzt wenigstens die Aktualisierungen einspielen, aber arbeiten kann ich so nicht.
Was muss ich ändern?

Tja, ich bin da auch nicht wirklich ein Experte, aber du könntest mal probieren das “Dynamische PowerManagement” einzuschalten.
(beim Kernel in 13.1 ist das standardmäßig noch nicht aktiviert, weil neu).
Dazu einfach “radeon.dpm=1” zu “Optionale Kernel Kommandozeilenparameter” in YaST->System->Bootloader->Bootloader-Option hinzufügen.

Um es nur mal auszuprobieren, ohne das System zu verändern, drücke im Bootmenü die Taste ‘e’, suche die Zeile die mit “linux” beginnt und hänge es dort am Ende an, dann ‘F10’ drücken zum Booten.

Das hat bei meiner Radeon 4550 ca. 5 Grad weniger gebracht, update auf Kernel-Stable.
Bin aber mittlerweile wieder beim 3.11 Kernel und mein Rechner läuft ohne Probleme mehrere Tage am Stück.

Upgrade von 12.2 auf 13.1 ist eigentlich nicht unterstützt aber:

Obwohl, da fällt mir ein: es ist ja gar nicht sicher, dass da jetzt wirklich der radeon Treiber benutzt wird. (könnte ja noch irgendein Blacklist oder “nomodeset” übergeblieben sein…)

@Amalya: Kannst du bitte mal die Ausgabe von “glxinfo | grep render” posten (du musst evtl. das Paket “Mesa-demo-X” vorher installieren)? Bzw. die Datei /var/log/Xorg.0.log.

ich habe im Yast die Bootloader-Option geändert.
Nach dem Neustart sah zunächst alles normal aus, aber im Anmeldebildschirm fehlt jetzt Windows.
Das muss ich aber wiederhaben.

Dort wird der 3.4 er Kernel aus openSUSE 12.2 angezeigt, das Heißt die Datei wurde noch von openSUSE 12.2 angelegt und nicht von openSUSE 13.1.

Was muss ich denn jetzt tun?

Den PC mit openSUSE 13.1 starten.

Geh nochmal in YaST->System->Bootloader->Bootloader-Optionen und stelle sicher, dass die Option “Fremdes OS testen” aktiviert ist.
Dann “OK” klicken und der Windows-Eintrag sollte eigentlich da sein.

Außerdem schau in YaST->Online Updates, ob alle Updates installiert sind.
Es gab ein Problem, dass Windows-Installationen unter gewissen Umständen nicht erkannt wurden. Das wurde durch ein Update im Jänner behoben.

Das mit dem Xorg.0.log find ich allerdings seltsam. Die Datei ist vom 17. Jänner 2013:

    31.058] (==) Log file: "/var/log/Xorg.0.log", Time: Thu Jan 17 19:25:32 2013

Die sollte aber bei jedem Boot neu angelegt werden.

Kannst du bitte mal die Ausgabe von folgendem posten?

ls -l /var/log/Xorg*

Irgendwie scheint der Radeon Treiber nicht zu funktionieren bzw. wird nicht verwendet.
Die Ausgabe von glxinfo zeigt, dass du Mesa’s Software Renderer verwendest, das kann natürlich auch zu einer höheren Temperatur führen.

Jetzt komme ich durcheinander, was anderes mache ich doch nicht, dachte ich.
Darum habe ich doch die Probleme mit openSUSE 13.1 (Bottle) (x86_64) 64-Bit und Gnome 3.10.2.:cry:

Ja, das habe ich schon recherchiert und hinbekommen. Seltsam, dass sich das von selbst verstellt.

Ja, Software habe ich zwischendurch immer wieder aktualisiert wenn es vorgeschlagen wurde, im Moment gibt es keines weiteren Patches angezeigt.
