nach dem Anmelden kommt das Glühbirnenbild, dann beginnt die Animation des Kreiselkeises und dann ist plötzlich der Bildschirm tot oder schwarz, man sieht nur die LED des Computers flackern, dass irgendeine Aktivität stattfindet aber es tut sich der Bildschirm nicht aufbauen. Meldet man sich mit einer ICEWM-Sitzung an, funzt die Oberfläche wie erwartet. Dies trat nach einer Standardsoftware Online-Aktualisierung auf.
Ich entsinne mich nebulös, dass ich ein gleiches Phänomen hatte, bei dem ich in irgendeiner versteckten Benutzer rc-Konfigurationsdatei ein Eintrag fehlte, aber ich finde die damalige Lösung nicht mehr.
Wo finde ich die Log-Dateien von Plasma?
vor der Systemaktualisierung 42.3 auf 15.0 war Bumblebee drauf für die NVIDIA Grafikkarte, bin unsicher, aber es ist glaube ich entfernt worden bei
Entweder, beim »schwarzen KDE Plasma Bildschirm« „Alt-Leertaste” eingeben und nachher „Konsole” oder, mit ein „VT” (tty1 bis tty6) einloggen.

Der Akonadi-Dienst ist früher manchmal auch abgestürzt, konnte dann durch manuelles akonadictl restart wieder gestartet werden.
Aber, „plasmashell” ist scheinbar nicht abgestürzt … Trotzdem, beim nächste „schwarze Bildschirm beim einloggen”, probier mal „<Alt-Leertaste>” (Plasma Suche starten) und dann in das Feld „Suchen” einfach „plasmashell” tippen und mit „Eingabetaste” die Plasma Shell noch mal starten – ohne auszuloggen.
Klar ist, „Akonadi” hat abgestürzt …
Beim nächste „schwarze Bildschirm beim einloggen”, „<Alt-Leertaste>” und dann „Konsole” tippen, „Eingabetaste” – ein Konsole Terminal Fenster starten.

habe mich als Plasma-Sitzung angemeldet, wieder Gleiches, der Bildschirm bleibt wie ausgeschaltet: total schwarz, alle LED-Pixel sind aus, trotzdem blinken ein paar Status-LED des Laptops (für irgendwelche Festplattenaktivitäten o.ä.)
„<Alt-Leertaste>” da reagiert rein gar nichts
bei dieser Anmeldung zeigte die xorg-session.log, dass akonadi einwandfrei läuft, diesmal ohne crash, sonst ähnlicher Inhalt
Ich habe mir mal die /var/log/Xorg.0.log angeschaut, da tauchte auf, dass er nach nvidia Treibern sucht. Mir fiel ein, dass ich bei der Systemaktualisierung (42.3 -> 15.0) zwar die ganzen bumblebee nvidia Pakete löschen lies, aber irgendwo muss wohl eine alte Einstellung geblieben sein, die ihn veranlasst nach nvidia Treibern zu suchen, die Frage wäre wo man das austrägt(?).

Gerade bei Laptops mit NVidia-Bumblebee gibt’s viele Hinweise und Details zu beachten, wegen den umschaltbaren Grafikchips. Schon mal in die SUSE-SDB reingschaut?
(Ich selbst habe nur wenig Erfahrung mit Linux-Grafikproblemen auf Laptops, aber ich kann mich an vieleThreads hier im Forum erinnern. Vielleicht ist das Problem anderswo schon mal gelöst worden.)

Eine xorg.conf-Datei, die Probleme verursachen könnte, gibt es auch nicht.
Hier wird es schwieriger. Auf Deinem System gibt es in diesem Verzeichnis einige Dateien, die es auf meinem System in diesem Verzeichnis nicht gibt. Allerdings halte ich es für eher unwahrscheinlich, dass das ein Problem darstellt. Auch wenn ich nicht verstehe wozu die Datei 10-amdgpu.conf benötigt wird?
Auch hier gibt es auf Deinem System in diesem Verzeichnis einige Dateien, die es auf meinem System in diesem Verzeichnis nicht gibt. Allerdings halte ich es auch hier für eher unwahrscheinlich, dass das ein Problem darstellt.
Ansonsten sieht das für mich erst einmal alles “unbedenklich” aus.
Bleiben noch die folgenden Fragen:
Gibt es in der Datei /etc/modprobe.d/50-blacklist.conf einen Eintrag “blacklist nouveau”?
Bietet Dein BIOS/UEFI die Möglichkeit eine der Grafikkarten zu deaktivieren?
Bei meinem Laptop kann man im UEFI zwischen zwei Grafikkonstellationen wählen:
DISCRET … dann wird nur die NVIDIA-Karte verwendet und die intel-Grafik wird abgeschaltet
MSHYBRID … dann werden beide Grafikkarten verwendet (OPTIMUS-Betrieb)
Falls es bei Deinem Gerät eine solche Einstellmöglichkeit gibt, wäre die Frage
Was ist aktuell eingestellt?
Tritt das Problem auch dann auf, wenn im BIOS/UEFI eine der Karten abgeschaltet wird?
nein es gibt keinen Eintrag. Die anderen Sachen, die Du schriebst muss ich später prüfen.
Frage: laut der Xorg.0.log sucht er ja nach den Nvidia Modulen, die er später wieder unload schaltet. Meines Wissens werden bei einer Standard-Installation von bumblebee dynamische Kernel-Module (damals noch unter 42.3) generiert. Was mich wundert woher er nach der Systemaktualisierung immer noch nach Nvidia-Modulen sucht.
Macht es Sinn irgendwo im Basisordner nach der Zeichenkette Nvidia zu suchen(?) um entsprechende Nvidia-Modul-Einträge zurückzusetzen was früher irgendwie mit mkinitrd compiliert wurde? (die Bumblebee Doku enthält die Anweisung mkinitrd auszuführen, für den Installationsfall – vermute da ist noch irgendwo en Rest übrig, der nicht beseitigt wurde)
Hattest Du (unter 42.3) den proprietären NVIDIA-Treiber aus dem openSUSE-Repository installiert oder hast Du die .run-Datei von NVIDIA zu Installation verwendet?

ich habe das leider schlecht dokumentiert, weiß nicht ob es die proprietären NVIDIA-Treiber waren oder aus dem openSUSE-Repository. Folgendes war meine spärliche Doku zur Nvidia-Installations beim alten System (42.3):
Das funktionierte seine Zeit. (es war doch keine Bumblebee-Installation)
Später dann vor der Systemaktualisierung (42.3 → 15.0) versuchte ich nvidia manuell zu löschen, doch hatte ich mir dabei aber das System (42.3.) total zerschossen :-/ und musste dann mit DVD-15.0 und Grubmanager Nachinstallation 3 bis 4 Tage das System aktualisieren und reparieren. Jedenfalls beim manuellen Löschen hatte mir das System folgende Paketlöschung ausgewählt:
Im alten System (42.3) hatte ich übersehen, dass er auch den damaligen Kernel entfernt hatte, eigentlich hätten bei mir als Systemverwalter die Alarmlampen angehen müssen … naja :? und nach DVD-15.0 Aktualisierung und Nachinstallation des Grubmanager (auch via Rettungssystem) und über 3 bis 4 Tage Arbeit hatte ich dann ein laufendes Leap 15.0, das erstmal wieder gut funktionierte.
Das ist der proprietäre NVIDIA-Treiber, installiert aus einem Repository (das ich selbst aber noch nie verwendet habe) und nicht mit Hilfe der .run-Datei von der NVIDIA Internetseite.
Verstehe ich das richtig?
Du hattest ein funktionstüchtiges openSUSE Leap 42.3 System mit dem proprietären NVIDIA Treiber.
Beim Versuch den proprietären NVIDIA-Treiber zu deinstallieren hast Du zu viele Dateien gelöscht, sodass Dein 42.3-System nicht mehr funktioniert hat.
Als Reparaturmaßnahme hast Du das kaputte 42.3-System per Installations-DVD auf openSUSE Leap 15.0 aktualisiert (KEINE Neu-Installation).
Dieses 15.0-System war OHNE den proprietären NVIDIA-Treiber voll funktionstüchtig, bis nach einer Aktualisierung der in Deinem ersten Beitrag beschriebene Fehler auftrat.

Tata: es geht wieder (normale KDE Plasma Sitzung). Im BIOS unter Configuration:
war Graphics Card [Switchable Graphics] eingestellt (?Folge: schwarzer Anmeldebildschirm)
umgestellt auf Graphics Card [UMA Graphics] …
… bewirkte, dass die normale KDE Plasma Sitzung wieder funktionierte
Fazit: dann sollte man auf Graphics Card [Switchable Graphics] wohl nur dann umschalten, wenn man einen Nvidia-Treiber sauber installiert hat oder Bumblebee, ist das richtig?
Trotzdem bleibt die Frage, warum es einige Zeit lief und dann plötzlich nach einer Softwareaktualisierung nicht mehr, ich werde mir noch einmal die YaST Protokolle durchsehen.
Die andere Frage wäre, wie man das SUSE-System verbessern kann, damit auch unter Konditionen wie „OPTIMUS-Betrieb“ eine funktionierende Lösung läuft, aber da hängen wahrscheinlich auch Streitigkeiten mit unseren Mitmenschen bei NVIDIA dran (Lizenzen und so weiter)
