Which version of openSUSE, and are you current on patches?
How did you install MySQL Workbench? For example, did it come with the
openSUSE distribution, or did you install it from a .tar.gz, or from a
third-party RPM, or other?

Awhile back in some other threads in these Forums, it was noted that MySQL Workbench is not in active development (and maintenance), so it’s unknown how much longer it can be used. The problem is that no other graphical tool has risen up to take its place. In another thread awhile back I located a freeware tool on github but even that was not likely actively maintained.
You can try some suggestions here (I often try this site when looking for app suggestions) but note there aren’t many free suggestions, most are either straight “commercial” or “freemium” (either crippled or trial) http://alternativeto.net/software/mysql-workbench/
I guess the alternative is to just become more proficient in mysql admin, the standard command line tool. It often displays things in ncurses mode (using text to build graphical representations) so it’s not the hardest tool to use.
