Hi there, I seem to be having weird issues with Amarok. It is the first time I’ve ever used Amarok so I let it scan my collection which includes both FLAC and MP3 files.
I go to play, say, Temposhark - Remixes & Rarities, and it just SPEEDS through my ~20 tracks and stops, not playing any sound. These files were MP3s. I then try to play Arctic Monkeys - Cornerstone EP and it plays all 4 songs fine, also MP3s. Then I try Tegan & Sara - Sainthood, and it doesn’t play these files either, also MP3s. What gives? These tracks play on my iPod when I used to have Ubuntu…
Note, I did used to use Ubuntu to manage my iPod and I used a combo of Songbird for playing my music, and gtkpod to transfer my songs. I was able to play all my files there.
Secondly, I’m trying to transfer songs to my iPod, but since gtkpod wasn’t finding my iPod, I figured I’d try Amarok, but it too is not seeing my iPod (Despite the fact that KDE mounts my iPod for me.)
About the ipod issue I don’t know, but the other maybe I can help: Check what engine is used for audio output, and change to another. Sometimes the engine is blocked for some weird reason, and it works with the other. I don’t use amarok any more, you should have the choice between xine and gstreamer, if you don’t have, maybe you need to install the one that’s missing.
Oh, sad to hear that caf. But thanks for the heads up. I too have rolled back to 1.4, which seems nice enough, (And so far seems to be playing my songs :))
However, and I feel like such a loser for this one, the iPod issue. Yeah, my iPod showed up in the “Devices Recently Plugged In” list, but I never actually mounted it… You’d think I’d be past such stupid mistakes after ~2.5 years on Linux. Now it’s detected in both gtkpod and amaroK
