My workspace today. Beat this

22°C, a very slight breeze, and OOOOOh, what a difference a LED screen is. It’s towards the sun, very well readable. And a nice double espresso.

22? I wouldn’t be out of the house without mittens  (check my location). Enjoy, it doesn’t get that warm in Holland very often…
That screen… why is it so difficult to buy laptops these days that don’t have bathroom mirrors instead of monitors?

Wow, that’s a nice temperature for the Netherlands at this time of year, sounds great. Say, isn’t Koninginnedag tomorrow? Will you be looking for bargain computers in the free markets? I remember walking around Amsterdam many years ago and there were heaps of audio amplifiers from the “one huge knob” era.

Yep, Koninginnedag tomorrow.

My son uses my old Kenwood, 45 kgs, a 2.5 inch “knob”, bought in the early eighties, still more than OK. There was an era of about 5 years when one would see lots of those on the free market, I guess it was when those minitowers came, with a record sticking outside the lid of the grammophone.
Stop here, I’ll end up writing about me clay tablet scatchings.

Nice Laptop

True about the screen. My old Lenovo LCD is kind of dull and hopeless in the bright light of day. But the new G550 is really bright.

Make the most of the weather, we have to here in the Lake District!

I am curious, what are the green and red glass objects on the table?

The crema of the Espresso seems slightly questionable to me, beside that: really sweet workspace indeed.

They’re just pieces of colored glass my mother in law found at a glass factory. We know the green one was supposed to be a bicolored (green and transparent) vase, the red one to me is just a piece of glass with red glass in it.
The cat, if anybody might wonder about that object too, is a bronze one, made in 1910. We got it from the MIL as well, she dismounted it from her garden, where it had been since it was made. I don’t like it.

You must have a pair of top quality eyes: espresso it is, a double dose it was. ( I ‘use’ about 10 of these daily )

wow! ten a day? i usually limit myself to two doubles a day…
[by the way, i thought the crema looked about right for an about 5
minute old double which had been sipped three or so times…hmmmm, i
think i’ll switch on and start warming-up my Vibiemme Domobar Super:]

i’ve seen that bronze before…though not at all rare it is probably
worth more than you might imagine…does it have a foundry mark?
