My system boots into GRUB initially

Arguably, they do specifically describe what you saw in your screenshots.

  1. Launch YaST, select the “System” group, then select “Bootloader” (screenshot 1, identified as “0.” in your screenshots)
  2. Select the “Kernel Parameters” tab. (screenshot 2, identified as “1.” in your screenshot list)

Unless your objection is that @hcvv said “Kernelparameters” instead of “Kernel Parameters”, which is a nit and not at all unclear.

That said, glad you got it resolved.

Sorry, @hendersj. I just reviewed them properly - it seems like I copied “Bootloader” exactly into YaST’s search bar and saw no results returned. That’s probably why I thought it was meaningfully different (the space was absent). I’m a little tired so I just didn’t bother to check what the difference really was.

Summarily, somewhat yes but not whatsoever deliberately.

I probably overestimated you inner urge to investigate things. As people may have translations of the wording and terms used, you can expect differences in what they see and you see. But I assumed that only a main hint like “why do you not use YaST for this task” should have been sufficient. That I even hinted at the path to be followed was already an extra.

My advice: when you have say 15 minutes if time left, then start YaST and browse through the different modules. Having even a vague idea of the things it can do for you may be useful in your openSUSE life.

Great! No murky narratives, but factual information!

Haha, @karlmistelberger, I don’t think I’ve quite the competence to run a disinfo campaign whilst troubleshooting my PC. I’ll leave such activies to the skilled handler of infamous host erlangen

Yeah, @hcvv – it’s not criticism. Thanks.
