Don’t get me wrong - I love Linux. I hate upgrades that don’t work. I’m a newbie to this and following all the instructions. Tried to upgrade Firefox and still at the try part. All the help articles seem to be a loop back to where I started with branches leading to red print. If they would put a little disclaimer like “firefox 3.0.3 tar.bz2 won’t update on SuSe 10” That would be great - or just a simple ‘good luck with it’ would suffice. End of rant.
What version OpenSUSE? If one that is still supported you should be updating from OpenSUSE repos, not directly from Mozilla Corp packages. I just got the automatic update to 3.0.3 last night. No problems at all.
Go here: Additional YaST Package Repositories - openSUSE and the one that matches your release, install that as a yast-source.
then
Open Yast & go to Repositories > Mozilla
tick off all the goodies like
Firefox
Tbird
Sunbird
etc.

Check back often and if the version number in the window on the right is blue, tha’s an update
right click it > all in this list > update if a newer version.

Have fun:)
Hi
Maybe a check of the system requirements may help?
Are you running 10 or 11? If it’s 11 the update to 3.0.3 came through
today for me and works fine?
