My own additional packages

Hello :slight_smile:
I’m new to OBS. I have a few RPM’s [drivers for printers, scanner (sources are present too)].
I want to put packages or build via openSUSE Build Service.
Can anyone help me?
I tried to make RPM package, but no success… :frowning:
Can I create my own repo?

Hi
If you create an account on OBS, it will create a repository for you to upload the source, spec file etc to build a rpm for any of the current releases…

Sure they are not already built by someone, what are the package names, links to the sources etc?

And it’s a source rpm than you can compile, as in not containing binary blobs already built…

Thank you for your reply. I think there was a misunderstanding.
I’ve uploaded *.spec file and *.tar.gz source.
When I try to build rpm package, build result/status (log) show me information:


   37s] error: Bad source: /home/abuild/rpmbuild/SOURCES/cnijfilter-source-4.00-22.1.tar.gz: No such file or directory
   37s] 
   37s] build82 failed "build cnijfilter-common.spec" at Thu Mar 28 13:32:29 UTC 2019.

What I do wrong? :frowning:

I tried upload package via link - I have the same error…
Package link is here, *.spec file is included in archive (official Canon driver):

I found your package on OBS…

Your naming is all very confusing… the package is called cnijfilter-mg3500series-4.00-1, the spec file is called cnijfilter-common, this will cause conflicts

Change this;


Release: %{RELEASE}

to

Release: 0

Let the build system use this to increment and always remains at 0 in your spec file… hopefully now it will expand your source tarball.

I tried change folders/archive/project names, but unsuccessfull…
I’m new to OBS, maybe I make lot of ground mistakes…
I will try tomorrow.
@Malcom, do you speak German language? IMO, for me it’s easier to use German language, I’m from Poland :slight_smile:

I think you have made some errors, I might have a chance to look at it tomorrow. Unfortunately only English… But there are others that should be able to help in the German forums here, suggest you post there with your issues and see if can get some help :slight_smile:
