My opensuse 11.1 cant be shut down

help help !!!
i m newbie of suse !
my pc cant shut down just !stop at grey colour screen and i also dont why !
other 1 problem is why suse cant display battery lifetime cos now it display o% only

Please give output of “grep -i acpi /var/log/boot.msg”.

when i install the opensuse time i already disable the acpi ! and what should i do ?

Maybe you may not want to disable ACPI, or even force it to be enabled
by adding acpi=force to the “kernel” line in /boot/grub/menu.lst . This
is required on machines that do support ACPI, but have a BIOS date
failing the cutoff date in the kernel. A messages regarding this will be
printed by left by the kernel in /var/log/boot.msg.

thx for the reply ! i will try to reinstall the whole system !
cos just now i saw a post that teach how to fix multiboot for the vista and opensuse !

other thing i wanna ask is why in failsave suse got battery indicator and the wifi signal also become better than normal !
