My op about 42.2 Beta1

Hi!

Tested on a AMD APU 3850 as client raw on HW and against a Leap 42.1 server.

I have follow the mailinglist today but… -Why not test the whole installation?
As usual I whining some.

Tested:
-dvd-version (usb-stick UEFI mode) KDE.
-nfs-client
-added differerent printers/scanners over the Lan.
-zypper dup’s…
-Packman repo was there…

So far I have to agree whit articles, -I have seen on other places on the net. its stable. I haven’t seen anything yet that have me course me more problems then make a fresh install of 42.1.

Still some problems, have to do a “zypper dup” twice before get rid of some problems. Same as 42.1.
Need to adjust my dual monitors setup after the zypper’s.
-wicked and not networkmanager is still default
-this partioner info in the beginning is not for ordinarie people.
Overall? Please continue the good work

Regards

Leap 42.2 Beta 1 (Network Installation) installed in an empty Oracle VirtualBox VM – fresh “new user” installation – the only network interface is an Ethernet cable – NAT pass-through in the VM.

 • The “newbie” gets the Network Manager . . .

Alpha 3 did the same.

IMHO we can do some effective Leap 42.2 KDE Plasma 5 Beta testing . . .
Caveat: need to use the “newer” KDE Framework and Applications repositories: KDE:Framework and KDE:Applications.

Using the “new User” defaults and the “newer” KDE Plasma 5 version, the 42.2 “eye-candy” is beginning to look good – there seems to be an Oxygen influence appearing in the graphics.

The “newer” PIM – Kontact and KMail and Co. – is looking good – the e-Mail “eye-candy” and text is good – and, the Kalender information is now integrated into the clock Plasmoid just like it was with KDE4 Plasma.
