You know Carl we all appreciate the work you have done with this. And, it would seem that every day one can learn something new. That includes the information on the Vendor change option. I just never noticed that ability before. Thanks so much for your efforts on this task of Multimedia configuration in openSUSE.

Thank You,

I appreciate your comments. Thank you. I added a slideshow of this in action.

I am running 12.1-KDE-based Tumbleweed, and didn’t know what packages to install (newbie when it comes to openSUSE). Checking out the OneClick file gave me the clue I needed. I had to add one package to the list, ‘gstreamer-0_10-plugins-ugly-orig-addon’. It was needed to watch streaming TV with totem. The only dependency issue I encountered was with the ‘k3b-codecs’ (resolved by downgrading ‘k3b’). Later on, I removed brasero and gmplayer (k3b and smplayer already there). Thank you Carl. I have a wide variety of media files, and I can play them all. The same is true about my favorite radio and TV stations.
