My mouse is to noisy?

I`m looking for a mouse is not so noisy.

Sorry can’t help it-

Stop squeezing the little guy so hard!! :stuck_out_tongue:

Sorry couldn’t help it.

Do you have a mechanical mouse(has a ball on the bottom) or a laser, IR mouse?

The mechanical mice usually did have some noise after a while. The little wheels inside would get worn out and the axles (not the right word, but close) would get loose and start to squeek. I would not recommend oiling it.

If you get a laser or Optical mouse, the noise would go away. they have no moving parts to make the cursor move.

some alternatives to try:

  1. turn down its volume
  2. put a muffler on it
  3. turn up the volume of (say) a radio/TV/music in the same room
  4. search YaST for mouseQuiet, Ultimate Enterprise Edition 2010
  5. use earplugs
  6. get married (they talk a lot, you know)

or, tell us what you mean by noisy…

Want to switch mice? Mine hasn’t spoken to me for at least 3 years…

I bought a wal-mart special years ago (optical, scroll wheel, two-button,
PS2) and it has served me well despite my slamming it against the desk
from time to time. Cost about $25 at the time and that was probably eight
years ago… still works perfectly. Serial Number on the bottom (it’s a
no-name brand) is 020057327.

Otherwise get a laptop and use the touchpad or little stick mouse
thingy… both don’t make noise (unless you have noisy fingers, and I
can’t help you with that).

Good luck.

Sounds like microsoft mice are like microsoft OS’s… too much noise to
signal ratio. I hear vista has a lot of popups too. Oh well… at least
you’re out of that mess.

Good luck.

Can you be more specific as to the type of noise and/or describe the sound you hear?

Optical mice don’t have any mechanical means to move the cursor. The fact that you have a noisy optical mouse is a little strange.

Found it: the Rattus Norvegicus 120dB Anabolic

Already tried it with a cat ?
