Yes! I have decided to follow your advice and will abandon my Samsung n150. A good neighbour of mine today gave me his used laptop (ten years, I think), a Lenovo B50-80 which has 12Gb RAM, 15.6’ display (1366 x 768) and 1Tb HDU. I took out his old operating system and put in openSUSE with Plasma: it flies in the face of the other one!
For the things I do (now!) that’s good enough for me. I will transport my documents from one to the other and close the other LID permanently.

I thank you all for your kindness, we have (YOU have!) tried, but the Samsung hardware is indeed obsolete.

And I still think, and tell everyone, that the ‘community’ is unparalleled.
