Hi everybody,
First of all, congratulations everybody, the new opensuse 11.0 and this new forum.
I’m currently downloading the opensuse 11.0 via torrent, and I’ll keep seeding for 5-7 days at least. This the least I can do for the community and for opensuse.
I’ve been on suse since version 7.3, (thanks to Micro$**t), that time it ‘forced’ me to look for another operating system. I’ll try to post the story, hoping that people still ‘under’ windows know what freedom and happiness are.
welcome and I hope you’ll have fun.
So far O.S11 has been pretty good for me, Much Much better then 10.2 or 10.3 ever were especially ‘zypper’.

Hi Limotux,
Glad you made it here & enjoy the forum!
Cheers,

Thanks a lot stefan1975, thanks a lot Magic31
I’m for sure enjoying. This warm welcome makes me feel at home as usual.
My download finished about 4 hours ago, and I’m seeding, happily seeding. I’ll find sometime to burn the DVD somewhere as I don’t have a DVD burner.
I’ll post back about my experience with opensuse 11.0
I’ll try to pay back some of my debts to opensuse and to the community.
Thanks a lot.
Welcome to the forum mate, hope you enjoy it here
Hi,
Thanks microchip for the warm welcome.
I’m really enjoying. The forum is so friendly and I love it.
I had opensuse 11.0 with KDE4 from the live cd for about 2 days now.
Not to create confusion we have to draw a very clear line between the opensuse 11.0 and KDE4.
Opensuse 11.0 seems to be a great breakthrough in technology under the hood.
- Yast: wow! this is the greatest improvement, much faster in everything, more user friendly, all-in-all it is great. I wonder how would Opensuse be in only 5 years! Just thinking how was suse 5 years ago, and how is it today, it’s unbelievable.
- KDE4: mmm… well, there is not too much I can say, other users have complained, some ranted, some warned it is not for everybody at this stage (see oldcpu thread )
I am downloading the DVD, with both KDE now.
Once I’m done I’ll report back (with KDE3)
Enjoy Opensuse 11.0 guys.
