hello, everyone, as i am saying: i installed opensuse 11 on eee pc and its totally naked*. i cant even connect USB connection, i cant make connections to the internet! i even aint able to do stuff. the desktop environment is XFCE and all i know about it is i cant connect to the net and i dont have USB connection, im very worried at the moment since i need it to work normally, and handy, if anyone can help me get it handy on time, since i need to study with that laptop
any help is appreciated

naked* not out of the box, nothing else possible to do then just stare at it

I’m sorry I don’t have any experience with openSUSE on that model, but why 11.0? Why not use 11.2?

What I installed on the EEE701 that I used while travelling was Crunchbang Linux, from a USB memory stick prepared using unetbootin. I don’t mind using shortcut keys instead of clicking on icons and this lightweight distro is well suited for this rather low-end netbook. Only 80MB or so footprint once booted up. CPU too slow for my liking though (Celeron 900MHz I think). This may be heresy in an openSUSE forum but I’ve heard Ubuntu Netbook Remix works well on that netbook too.

Hi
Or Moblin

I’ve run remix on my 1000HE, it was fine… if you like orange
