my dmesg output is showing a TON of these with

I just typed dmesg to see how a USB device was recognized and noticed for some reason I’m getting a LOT of these:

I looked up wlp12s0 and it appears to be something with wireless so I’m posting here. I don’t know anything about any of this so any help is greatly appreciated. I’m worried that somehow I got one of those via-the-browser type of no-no’s somehow.

5353 is the multicast DNS port so most likely Avahi is sendind/receiving things - it seems you have multicast aware devices / computers in the wireless network.

This is nothing to worry about, you could just disable logging in the firewall preferences.

I hope you’ll forgive me for not being knowledgeable enough to know what the heck any of that is - BUT - thank you!! I now know I don’t need to worry about these! :wink:
