I’m using Cockpit on my Tumbleweed install and at first I was able to setup virtual machines on it and everything worked as expected. Somewhere along the way as I’m tinkering I screwed it up. It will not recognize any network interface, perhaps I deleted and recreated it incorrectly. I’ve tried to uninstall cockpit and reinstall cockpit but it still has the issue.
I’d like to completely uninstall cockpit, including any config files that I suspect are hanging around after I uninstall (because a fresh reinstall still had issues). I have cleared out the /etc/cockpit and /usr/share/cockpit. I do not want to reinstall Tumbleweed as it does have docker and quite a few things I’ve grown dependent on and that would just be a pain. How can I fix this? The VM install starts up, but fail to find any network connection and doesn’t go any further. I suspect it’s a networking issue and I guess I don’t know how to fix it.
As a side note, there is this error when I go to the Machines tab in cockpit. The specific error is binary '/usr/sbin/virtinterfaced' does not exist in $PATH: No such file or directory
. I can’t recall, but I think it was there before this issue, but I can’t be certain.
Any help troubleshooting this would be great. Thanks.
