Hello everyone,
I’ve been an openSUSER since 10.2 and I have to say it’s the greatest Linux distribution I’ve ever tried.
But today I have a problem.
I installed 11.2 (32 bits) and my scanner (Canon Pixma MP 780 doesn’t scan) I had no problems scanning until now, everything worked fine with 11.1 (though I used TurboPrint for printing). Now the printer part works “out of the box” with CUPS/Guttenprint but the problem is that I can’t scan.
The symptoms :
-
after 11.2 install I went to YaST/hardware/scanner, my scanner is detected then I add it and chose the correct driver then OK
-
with lsusb it is detected
-
when I open skanlite it is detected and then when I try to scan, the scanner really scans (the lamp goes to the end and comes back) but nothing is sent to the computer. I say that because skanlite just “hangs” and if I want to switch the Pixma off by pressing it’s button it says “Data in memory impossible to stop”. I have to unplug the USB cable of the Pixma in order to switch it off. (the problem is the same with xsane)
I had no problems at all with 11.1
Can you help me please ?
Thank you.
