… but Amarok and Skype can connect to the web. I can also connect up to my router through my browser, but not to any other web servers. This happened just after the automatic update today. It might be something else… but I can’t figure out what. Can somebody help please?
Thank you

Just a drive-by thought: try adding the gateway IP address into the configuration (and maybe also the IP addresses of your ISP’s name Servers).
Hi,
I’m probably way off but, could it be the DNS addresses?
if
dig www.google.com
doesn’t work.
But
dig @4.2.2.4 www.google.com
does work, it’s to do with the DNS settings.
Good luck,
Barry.
Here’s what happening:
As you can see in the paste below, my computer can access the web, but cannot resolve the names. Consequently, I can access Google though my browser only by typing 74.125.77.99, and I cannot get further as any other address on links is written in letters!
Yes, I wrote my gateway address in the Yast Network configuration. But it didn’t help :(.
Any other idea?
