My Boot Chart....

I understand that many people have considerations regarding boot times and other performance oriented metrics.

I’ve picked up a boot chart for my machine which is normal VAIO with very normal components running openSUSE 11.4 (x86_64) with minor modifications. I’ve disabled some services I don’t use (I could disable a few more), and I’m also loading strange things like (indicator-applet and friends) which are mainly the Ubuntu interface indicators that I’m working on for openSUSE (GNOME:Ayatana)…

Here’s my bootchart with 45 secs (No I’m not optimizing my system), just sharing it to try and see if this is normal or not very normal

Booting speed and time based on hardware. I have not count my system booting time. My system has:
Motherboard: asus crosshair 3 formula with AMD chipchet
Processor: AMD phenom 2 x3 in 4 Ghz
Graphics card: AMD radeon 6990 with 2 cores.
HDD: WD Caviar blue 1.2 Tb.
Operating system: openSUSE, 11.3 x86_64, KDE 4.6.
