I have been using bubbletag(with mixed results)to modify/rename mp3 files.
Is there something that works more consistent? (The id3v1,v2,v3 etc) or other?
I actually would like to remove tags completely, but that may be a problem adding them to our iPods & android devices.
I usually use id3v2 command line tool. It has quite a number of switches. Great for adjusting MP3 tags which I use heavily to trick my players into organizing some songs into the same album for practicing songs I play with my band.
Removing all tags: id3v2 -D, see man id3v2. But it only applies to id3v1 and id3v2 tags.
Tried āeasytagā. Apparently I have mucked up some of my music files. When I hit the āsaveā switch, I lost a bunch of songs.
Good thing I keep them backed up & in redundant places in my network disks.

I found I did not lose files. The messages at the bottom indicated something would be lost, but I think that was some āunknownā or unreadable tag(probably something I did wrong before).

No didnāt use a ā.ā In front. I am still ālearningā easytag, & need to look at the scanner. I did however add tags to some that came up blank for title & artist fields.
