multiple websites??

hello we’ve got our own website but have been getting emails saying that some of our links don’t work because theres other websites that have the same link or something like that. Is there a way to find out which sites have the same links as ours??

Knowing what the problem actually is will help. Links are just pointers
and any number of people can have a link pointing somewhere without a
problem. If a given link works in one place it should (given a proper
setup) work anywhere, but without know what your visitors are saying this
isn’t going to be easy to isolate, and I don’t know that (or why) it will
be related to opensuse at all.

Good luck.

alright they just got there own website up and running using linux suse and they have other sites on a different server I think it is that have links connecting to the site. I dunno if I’m explaining this clearn enough.

Anyway ya the links on the other server are messing up the new website server so some links don’t work.

This really doesn’t make any sense to me still. Links don’t break
things… they just point. Please post links to the various sites and we
can check them right here. Also explain what they mean by links.

Good luck.

ya I’m kinda confused also. She just told me that she’s been getting emails from people saying that there links don’t work because other sites that they own have the links connecting to there main site which is interfering with there server or something

anyway there site is nfn.ca

and they have other sites they own but gave me an example of

Beaucage Tent and Trailer Park

she said when people go to nfn history link she gets an error in her logs saying something about the links or what ever. I dunno what shes talking about :S

Well the two links on that site don’t work to nfn.ca:

http://www.nfn.ca/council_chief.php
http://www.nfn.ca/historical.php

But that’s probably not the fault of the nfn.ca people unless that page
should exist, in which case their server is misconfigured as it does not
currently exist. If your customer is the Beaucage site then they need to
fix their links but that’s about it.

Good luck.
