Multimedia:proaudio repo failing?

Myrlyn seems to get stuck ‘initializing repositories’ when I go to update. Same with sudo zypper dup

There seems to be an issue with gpg keys from the https://download.opensuse.org/repositories/multimedia:/proaudio/openSUSE_Tumbleweed/ repo.

I removed it, restarted the machine and re-added it via Myrlyn but I’m still unable to update.

I can update without that repo but there seems to be a bunch of conflicts that I presume is the proaudio files that will get overwritten or deleted. My system was pretty rock solid so I’m not sure how to proceed.

Probably not related, but having updated yesterday via ‘sudo zypper dup’ I found that all my audio was disabled in X11 session on plasma. We have had problems with gpg keys recently which was down to a config issue at the mirrors, but everything seems stable again currently. I tried following the reinstall process to get my audio hardware back, and then tried a switch to ‘wayland’ which displayed the hardware perfectly, and then bouncing back to X11 session everything is back up. So just what problems are you finding?
I normally use Myrlyn for the manual stuff on the desktop machine and I don’t have proaudio enabled at all but use Packman Essentials to extend the multimedia stuff and that had been fine until yesterday …

I’ve been out with the dog and It now seems to have been fixed, whatever it was. The repo initialisation would freeze Myrlyn for around 10 minutes then give a fail message and disable the proaudio repo.
I tried via the command line and saw the GPG error after I waited for zypper dup to fail the same repo initialisations.

I haven’t made any changes and it’s all plain sailing right now but thank you for the reply !
Oh, and I’m in Wayland, if that’s of any use to anyone.

And the issue is back. I’m unsure if this is something to report or to just wait it out. The system will time out on the proaudio repo and eventually allow OSS repo updates so I doubt i’m missing any security fixes etc.

Such problems are almost always related to the specific mirror chosen for your location. You can see the mirrors with

curl -L https://download.opensuse.org/repositories/multimedia:/proaudio/openSUSE_Tumbleweed/\?mirrorlist | jq .

and get quick overview which mirror zypper was trying with

sudo grep  setupHandle /var/log/zypper.log

This will print something like

If you have a mirror with consistent bad behavior, it may be worth to report to the openSUSE mirror admins.

thank you for that info. I’m not sure what output of

‘sudo grep setupHandle /var/log/zypper.log’

tells me but no errors jump out at me even though both mrlyn and yast fail to initialise at the pro audio repo:

There will be no errors in this output; you need to look in the zypper.log to see what happens. But it sounds like zypper tries all mirrors (I wonder where cdn.opensuse.org comes from).

Can you try to download the file manually for each mirror?

When I try any of these links I get a page with 404 (not found). Looks like mirrors were not updated. It is often transient issue; wait for a couple of days and try again. If it persists you can try contacting openSUSE mirror admins.
