Multi-monitor support broken Leap 42.1 Plasma 5.5.4?

I just installed the Plasma 5.5.4 update in Leap 42.1 and both of my monitors are now duplicated (i.e. - same thing displayed on both). Prior to this update, each display was distinct. In display settings, only a single monitor is displayed, but the “Primary display” dropdown lists both monitors (HDMI2 and VGA1).

xrandr shows:

Screen 0: minimum 8 x 8, current 1280 x 1024, maximum 32767 x 32767
DP1 disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis)
DP2 disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis)
HDMI1 disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis)
HDMI2 connected primary 1280x1024+0+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 380mm x 300mm

Any suggestions for how to get my second monitor to be distinct again?

Figured it out. The two monitors were on top of each other in the “Display Configuration” window. Separating them by simply dragging the one on top fixed the problem.

I’m wondering if this an intended skeuomorphism, like Apple OS’s of old, or just a coincidence. To duplicate screens just plop one on top of the other. I’m curious what would happen if you partially overlap them, supposing it’s allowed. Would there be a duplicate portion of the desktop in both monitors? A blank portion in one?

Actually, it does. The overlapped space is duplicated between the two monitors. Also, if you separate the two monitors, it adds a proportional amount of virtual space between the physical monitors. Same if the monitors aren’t aligned vertically.

Thanks for the feedback. Works better than 13.2 here. When overlapping, only the overlapped part is shown in the second monitor.
