MS windows compatible wireless adapter

Hi, I’m very new here and worried the following question might b a tad idiotic:

Have the following wireless adapter: linksys WUSB54GS ver.2.1.
It says on the package that is only compatible with MSWindows 2000/XP.

That thing never worked very well with Windows anyway.

The question is this: is there any way to make it work with my newly installed SUSE or should I just spare myself the trouble and get another adapter?

I only want to use my Linux machine as a desktop/workstation.

Know that there are solutions to some similar problems so thought it was worth asking.

Thanks to anyone who cares to respond.

It works. Such devices are OS independent. I don’t know why those nut companies still talk about compatibility!

What they meant is that they do not provide a driver for Linux. The fact that it
works means that someone else has done the job.

Sorry, I thought it is an AP. I had a second look and it is not an AP.
Anyway, if you have the device, you can very well try it. I am not sure about it.
