MS Teams does not load

After running a DUP my MS Teams does not start at all. I am running openSUSE Tumbleweed kernel 6.1-12-1-default on a Dell Laptop XPS. After being using this distro for over a year, this is the first time that I ran into an issue. Is there any fixes to solve it? I can use the web app in the meantime, but I would prefer the application. Flatpaks do not seem to work or download either.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

What is the terminal output? Which MS Teams version? From where and how downloaded and installed?..

It might be unrelated to a distro upgrade since MS planned to deprecate the desktop client on Linux and support PWA MS Teams Linux client is being retired. To be replaced by a progressive web app | Hacker News

You can double check this by booting from a previous snapshot. But since downloading a .rpm/.deb doesn’t appear to be working anymore, be prepared to use PWA from now on.

Thank you. I was afraid of the answer. I knew something was brewing.

There are projects out there which uses the web app and wraps it into a standalone application…thats why i asked how/what/from where you installed it…

@hui I saw this. But when I downloaded the flatpack it was trying to create directories with the author’s name. I will check the GitHub link that you provided. Thanks.

As already explained by @awerlang Microsoft has discontinued the MS Teams app for Linux. I use MS Teams in a browser and still works fine but note that the free version will be discontinued in April. If you want to continue using the service you will have to upgrade.

Perhaps this will help:

teams --disable-seccomp-filter-sandbox
