MPLAYER error "Warning No MV's available"

When I go to play a dvd I get this error. This video still plays, but the error is annoying, and sometimes when you jump around on the dvd, it freezes up mplayer. Any ideas how to correct the problem? Latest version off of packman/opensuse repos. Problem arose after doing an upgrade from suse 10.3 to 11.0, and has been this way for months.

it means the decoder can’t read/decode motion vectors (mv) for some reason. You can try changing the decoder from the default ffmpeg2 to mpeg12

mplayer -vc mpeg12 dvd://1
