In my 11.1 version, Mplayer was my preferred program which would play almost anything. After upgrading to 11.3, Mplayer was missing. After installing it, I could not get it running because it complains about a joystick device which it does’nt find. Why all this sudden mess? Fortunately, Kaffeine now seems to work a bit better!
How did you do the upgrade, via 11.2? KDE or Gnome? Which repo did you install MPlayer from? I upgraded from 11.2 to 11.3. SMPlayer & MPlayer installed and working ok here.
because it complains about a joystick device which it does’nt find.
It may be complaining, but it should start anyway.
To stop the message, in your ~/.mplayer/config file add:
nojoystick=yes
Thank you for the hint! Now it works fine again! Thanks again!
